Tennessean: Is Nashville headed in the right direction? Not all mayoral candidates agree. Here’s what they said. | Plazas

Most of the candidates running for mayor of Nashville do not think the city is headed in the right direction.

However, Mayor David Briley thinks otherwise as do two of his nine opponents. Briley is looking to be elected to a full four-year term in the Aug. 1 election.

Leading opponents At-large Metro Councilman John Cooper and retired Vanderbilt University Professor Carol Swain do not agree with the mayor. Meanwhile, State Rep. John Ray Clemmons thinks while the economy is headed in the right direction, the city government is “on the wrong path.”
