Tennessean: Transit union endorses Nashville mayoral candidate John Ray Clemmons

Coming just two weeks after Mayor David Briley’s controversial plan to cut the Metro transit budget was approved, the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1235 has endorsed Briley’s opponent Rep. John Ray Clemmons.

“The other candidates tout their role in defeating the transit referendum,” union President Patrick Green said in a statement provided Tuesday. “The direct result is an underfunded transit agency that negatively impacts the quality of life of working families, underemployed community members, and transit-dependent Nashvillians.”
